Wider Offer – Life Beyond the Classroom

Life at St Issey goes far beyond lessons. Our wider offer helps children be strong and courageous, explore new interests and develop confidence in the world around them.

Outdoor learning begins in the Early Years and grows year by year, from our Venture Zone to our Venture 60 outdoor challenges and a bushcraft camp in Year 6. Every September we start the year with Learning to Learn Week – a week of adventure, teamwork and discovery, including a night camping in the wild for children in Years 3–6.

Trips, visits and residentials enrich learning even further, from exploring our local area to city visits in Bristol, Manchester and London. These experiences help children see beyond Cornwall, while still valuing the place they call home.

We also work closely with other schools across Rainbow MAT to offer shared projects and opportunities that build curiosity, ambition and a love of learning.
